Juhani Karila

Juhani Karila on 39-vuotias helsinkiläinen kirjailija. Karila on julkaissut kaksi novellikokoelmaa (2013 ja 2016) ja romaanin Pienen hauen pyydystys (2019), jolle on myönnetty Kalevi Jäntin palkinto, Jarkko Laine -palkinto, Tähtifantasia-palkinto ja Lappi-kirjallisuuspalkinto. Romaani on käännetty 18 kielelle ja siitä on tehty kaksi teatteriversiota.

 

Juhani Karila is a 39-year-old writer from Helsinki. Karila has published two collections of short stories (2013 and 2016) and the novel Fishing for the Little Pike (2019; translated into English by Lola Rogers 2023), which was awarded the Kalevi Jäntti Literature Prize, the Jarkko Laine Literature Prize, the Tähtifantasia Award and the Lapland Literature Prize. The novel has been translated into 18 languages and adapted into two theatrical versions.
