Jan Kaus

Jan Kaus (1971) is a writer, translator, and essayist. He has published collections of poetry, short stories, miniatures, essays, and six novels, edited anthologies of both prose and poetry and worked with composer Märt-Matis Lill to write libretti for his pieces, and worked as an editor in the literary section of the cultural publication Sirp and as the chairman of the Estonian Writers’ Union (2004-2007). He plays in the indie band Jan Helsing. Jan Kaus has received several literary awards, the latest of them the prestigious Friedebert Tuglas Short Story Award.
