The discussions on our general theme The Mirror of Literature are held at our main venue Opiston Kunkku. They are presided by novelists Riina Katajavuori and Karo Hämäläinen. All discussions are simultaneously interpreted through headphones in English and Finnish, the two official languages of the event.

Presentations by Harry Salmenniemi (Finland) and Hollie McNish (UK); Ljudmila Ulitskaja’s (Russia/Germany) presentation will be read in the beginning of the session. 

13.00–15.00 Second Session, Opiston Kunkku (Harjukatu 46).

Presentations by Juhani Karila (Finalnd), Anneli Jordahl (Sweden), Quynh Tran (Finland/Sweden), Beatrice Salvioni (Italy)

16.00–17.30 Prose matinée in the Theather Vanha Juko (Rautatienkatu 13).

Our guests perform. At the event, each performer will have five minutes to present one or more self-written poems. Regardless of age, language, or publication history, everyone is welcome to step up to mic! To sign up in advance, please email the evening’s host, poet Harri Hertell, with the subject line “LIWRE OPEN MIC,” at the following address: harri.hertell (at) gmail.com. Kindly include your performance name in the message. Performance slots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is free for the audience. Warmly welcome!
