Hamdam Zakirov

Hamdam Zakirov was born in Uzbekistan in 1966. He has worked as a dramaturg, researcher in the field of literature and a journalist. His poems have been translated in more than ten languages and his other books in Finnish (Kaukana mereltä; reunamerkintöjä Kavafisiin, Ntamo 2016, transl. Jukka Mallinen), in Estonian, in Italian. His latest book, Doslovno was published in Moscow in 2018. Hamdam Zakirov moved to Finland in 2001 and now lives and works in
