Marja Luoma is a literary translator from French and English to Finnish. She has translated some eighty titles, among the newer ones the autobiographical novel Ru by Kim Thúy. At present she is translating Vi, Thúy’s second novel. Luoma has also translated books from Fred Vargas, Jean-Christophe Rufin and Marceline Loridan-Ivens, plus French literary graphic novels. She is a bookworm, a cat person, and a mushroom collector. She lives in Northeastern Helsinki, but her heart lies in France.
