Pirjo Toikka is a Finnish playwright and scriptwriter. She has written numerous plays (e.g., Poikkeustila/State of emergency, 1982 at Ryhmäteatteri), adaptations for the stage, plays for radio, television series (e.g., Fakta hommat/The facts,1985-87, Hellapoliisit/Cooker policemen) and film scripts, including Viimeiset mitalit (Last medals) based on a novel by Sisko Istanmäki (2000), Ilon juhla (Festival of joy, 2001), Suurin on rakkaus (The greatest is charity, 2001) and Tappava Säde (Killing ray, 2001), based on a novel by Leena Lehtolainen.
