Vivi-Ann Sjögren (b. 1938) is a Finland-Swedish writer and actress. She has written several books about travel, food and getting to know the everyday aspects of another culture. In another kind of environment, a person discovers quite new, surprising features about himself. Her latest novels are Mexikansk dagbok (Mexican diary, 1998) and Morgon och afton i Sahara (Morning and evening in the Sahara, 1999). Andalusiens grova salt (The coarse salt of Andalusia, 1996) was praised for its sensual and innovative blending of literary idioms. Her new book coming out in the autumn Detta möte (This encounter) is about Africa.
