Veronica Pimenoff

Veronica Pimenoff (b. 1949) is a rare representative of the Finnish ideological novel, a relentless investigator of social and moral issues. She has published seven novels, of which Loistava Helena (Brilliant Helena, 1984), Risteilijät (Cruisers, 1995) ja Maa ilman vettä (Land without water,1999) have been entered for the Finlandia Prize. By education, Pimenoff is an anthropologist, doctor, psychiatrist and Doctor of Philosophy. She has been Senior Physician at the Central Hospital of Northern Karelia since 1991.
