Gianni Celati |
Gianni Celati (born 1937) rose to the top of the modern Italian literature in the 1970s supported and inspired by Italo Calvino. He combines the traditions of Italian short stories and oral narration in an original way in his writing. With his minimalist style he creates ironic emphases and absurd humor. Celati has published 11 works and has translated e.g. Céline and Barthes into Italian.
