French author Véronique Ovaldé (b. 1972) published her debut novel Le sommeil des poissons (The Hibernation of the Fish) in 2000 and has since become a favourite of the public and critics alike. Her fifth novel Et mon coeur transparent (And My See-through Heart) was recognized with the France Culture/Télérama prize and her seventh novel Ce que je sais de Vera Candida (What I Know about Vera Candida) with as many as three notable literature awards. Ovaldé's works have been translated into several languages.
